When you plan to go on a road trip it can be a lot of work-exciting, but a lot of work. It does take some planning if you want to have a smooth trip. basically, you want to be prepared without over-packing. That is the key. Try to limit what you bring while still having what you need. You need clothes but do you need your entire wardrobe? Probably not. Try to stick to one bag (per person if you're traveling with passengers). Make sure that you bring plenty of snacks and bottled water so you don't have to stop as often or spend a ton in convenience stores. It's fine to bring fresh fruit and veggies, but don't bring so much that it will go bad. Stick to nonperishable food items like trail mix and jerky. Be sure to also bring lots of books on tape and music too.
