In China, the demand for Ford is going up. With a recent increase of 2.5% in sales from June 2015 to June 2016, Ford has seen a steady rise in popularity making for an impressive first half in the world’s largest auto market.

With the growing trend of SUVs in China, Ford has made its rightful place in the Chinese auto arena. More than 150,000 vehicles were sold during the first half of 2016, and Ford’s SUV lineup has been a huge driving force behind sales. SUVs like the Ford EcoSport, Kuga, Edge, Everest, and Explorer are a major hit with Chinese consumers due to their high demand in recent years.

Ford's two largest Chinese joint ventures, Changan Ford Automobile and Jiangling Motors Corp., increased sales by 4% and 5% respectively last month, which has not gone unnoticed by Dave Schoch, Ford group vice president and president of Asia Pacific.

“Even as the pace of growth slows and the market matures, customers continue to respond well to our products, particularly our world-class SUV lineup,” Schoch says.
